2024 is soon approaching, and with new years come new trends, our kitchen design experts have been looking at past trends and current bestsellers, and here’s what we expect to see in kitchens across the country this coming year.
In the past years we have seen a rise in colourful kitchens and maximalist styles across homes in England. We believe some 2023 trends will follow us into 2024 with nature inspired tones taking over homes in the UK.
Starting off strong with green kitchens, we’ve seen a wide range here from sage green accessories to emerald green doors, and we believe the nature inspired tones are here to stay.
Neutral colours such as sage green and sky blue are the perfect biophilic element to add to your home, biophilic design is an extension of the concept of biophilia, referring to humanity’s instinctual need to connect with nature through both emotional and tactile manners.
With many of us now living in cities, and apartments with no gardens, it’s getting harder to connect with nature, green kitchen elements and a houseplant or two is a great way to bring a sense of zen to our homes.
When it comes to home design, kitchen experts are seeing a rise in requests for wooden flooring, worktops and accessories whether this be solid oak, or wood look laminate.
Tiled floors can create a cold environment, not only on the bottoms of your feet but also emotionally! In the past years we’ve seen customers opting for wooden flooring and we think this is here to stay for 2024.
Wooden elements in the kitchen such as flooring and worktops, add the perfect touch of nature to bring us back to earth, as well as creating a ‘warm’ and ‘cosy’ feeling to the room.
Forget minimal, handle-less cabinets, kitchen jewellery is in!
Just like accessorising your outfit with a dainty gold necklace, or curating the perfect ring stack, kitchen jewellery is allowing homeowners to add a sense of their personality to their space. This can be anything from a sleek gold t-bar door handle, to a beautiful display of matching ribbed glassware on your open shelving above the sink.
Kitchen hardware is a great place to start if you’re looking to add a pop of personality to your space, sticking to one metal finish in different areas of your room can tie the décor together perfectly.
Are white kitchens coming back? We believe so.
In recent years we saw a rise in coloured kitchens; home owners were craving pops of dusky pink and royal blue, and we even saw a spike in maximalist design with mixed elements in their homes, but we think white kitchens are now on the rise. To some, all white kitchens may seem ‘cold’, but this sleek colour is perfect for people looking for a clean and minimalistic design.
We recommend having 1 or two white elements, and with the right accessories this timeless colour can look at home in your kitchen. Pairing your white kitchen doors with a wooden oak worktop and tiled splashback can add pops of colour to give your kitchen some character, or why not opt for a two toned kitchen with a white kitchen island and a dusky grey or navy blue colour on the main cabinetry?
We have also seen the internet go wild the past few years with innovative storage solutions and handy hacks to keep your home organised. We predict that smart storage, organised fridges and decanting products into minimalistic containers to match your aesthetic will continue in 2024.
Our teams of dedicated kitchen professionals are on hand to help you plan your dream kitchen, with years of industry knowledge and design expertise!
